Mental Health Counseling - Abby Leach

Clinical Mental Health Counseling

The purpose of my clinical work is to help clients transform limiting patterns into healthier ways of being that are more in alignment with their heart and soul.  As a licensed mental health counselor, my approach is rooted in compassionate, unconditional acceptance and is tailored to meet the needs of the client.

I work with a diverse group of clients, including those who are experiencing grief, trauma, loneliness, anxiety and/or depression. Common challenges may also include feeling stuck or blocked and overwhelmed from life transitions such as adjusting to growing relationships, changing priorities, letting go of or creating a new career, facing challenging health issues or changing locations.  Life can present doorways that often feel like hardships.  Whatever the doorway, healing is available.

Sessions are in a safe comfortable space surrounded by nature. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) with more than 30 years of experience helping others.  Virtual and in-person sessions are available.

We don’t need to know how, we just need a willingness to come “home” to ourselves and respond to what’s calling us, our deepest longing, with a resounding YES!

My Approach

Every human being is facing different challenges and living a unique experience. As a licensed mental health counselor, I offer clinical therapy sessions rooted in compassionate, unconditional acceptance tailored to meet the needs of the client.

The methods and techniques I rely on are drawn from my experience and training in providing mental health counseling and are informed by my spiritual services training. Individual sessions may include mental health therapies, mindfulness practices, somatic work, connecting with nature or other pertinent practices.

A key aspect of my therapeutic paradigm is self love and acceptance. Helping clients cultivate acceptance and compassion for all the parts of self is significant within the healing process. Most times, the parts we don’t like have served a high purpose. It’s important to honor all the aspects that got us safely to adulthood. Again, walking through the doorway of whatever is in front of the client, aspects they like or don’t like, are often the gateway to inner peace and ultimately cultivate living a more fully engaged life.

I’ve been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) since 1995. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) with over 30 years of experience. My training includes EMDR certification, psychodrama, somatic, mindfulness and shamanic practices. I continue to evolve professionally, acquiring new skills and knowledge to better support my clients.

My approach is holistic and I enjoy collaborating with other healing professionals, integrating any of your experiences with them into our work together.

I also offer non-clinical opportunities for deeper exploration into personal growth, increasing awareness and empowerment. Please review the information on the EcoRemedy & Spiritual Guidance page to discover more
